August was about oversight and reach. Linked Entity Recognition can now draw on entities from any project in your account, and edge deployments on Akamai, Cloudflare, and CloudFront are now monitored and tuned for speed. Reporting across the Analyzer, Entity Hub, and Performance Analytics also received a substantial round of accuracy work.
Link Internal Entities Across Projects
Linked Entity Recognition is no longer limited to the entities in the current project. A new "Internal Entity Source" selector lets you reference internal entities from any project in your account, so knowledge built on your marketing site can be reused on your support or regional domains without duplicating it. The selector refreshes its preview as you change the source and includes a searchable picker for large accounts. A new "Matching rules" section adds an "Entity Homes only" option that restricts matching to canonical Entity Home records when you want tighter precision, and switching a tag back to an external source now clears that restriction cleanly.
Edge Deployments: Monitored and Faster
Deployment monitoring now recognizes and validates edge-based deployments on Akamai, Cloudflare, and CloudFront, so edge projects report accurate daily pass and fail statuses on the home dashboard instead of surfacing validation errors. The Cloudflare Worker gained two controls aimed squarely at page speed: an opt-in bot-only injection mode that serves origin HTML directly to human visitors while continuing to deliver server-rendered markup to search and AI crawlers, and a configurable fetch timeout that returns unmodified origin HTML if a request stalls. Together these keep Schema App off the critical path for real-world load times.
Other Improvements at Schema App
- More accurate Performance Analytics: pages carrying markup from more than one template are now consolidated into a single metric row using a clear source priority, removing inflated click and impression counts and bringing totals back in line with Google Search Console. Pages whose markup has been removed now correctly report as having no source, and Business Review reporting can compare your coverage against an anonymized industry peer average.
- A unified Analyzer crawl history: legacy and current crawls now appear in a single history list, with legacy crawls clearly tagged. New crawl reports break errors and warnings down by individual URL, with a summary view and per-URL detail, which makes problem pages much easier to isolate.
- A more complete Entity Hub: internal entities now show their Schema Markup in a read-only view with a direct link to the correct authoring tool, exact-match internal links are included in the Internal Entity View so a single report covers every connected entity, merged entities display their canonical attributes instead of appearing as duplicates, URL drill-down modals return results reliably, duplicate entries in linked entity results are filtered out, and search no longer lags as you type.
- Sharper reporting controls: report column filters now offer a "None" option to isolate empty cells, click to copy is back in the Data Delivery Check modal with cleaner line breaks, report downloads check their status before opening so you no longer get duplicate requests or the wrong dialog, and filters, search, pagination, and column widths are consistently aligned across report tables. The in-app Structured Data Tester no longer times out, template history loads without freezing, bulk delete works again in the Admin Editor, and the Offers field appears where it should on SoftwareApplication templates.
- A clearer Knowledge Assistant: chat and cited sources now sit in parallel columns with a sticky sources sidebar, so answers are easier to read and the supporting evidence is easier to check. A "Beta" badge now appears on Knowledge Assistant references to make its release phase clear.
- Access, integrations, and reliability: enterprise sign-in through Microsoft now completes for accounts using multi-factor, certificate, or device authentication. Entity Hub tiers can be assigned per sub-account rather than only at the parent account level, the Merchant Center site list has its "Select Property" action back and now runs on Google's current Merchant API, and the retired Enhanced Analytics interface has been removed to avoid confusion. We also continued routine reliability, data model, and enhanced security work across the platform, including faster and more dependable cache and crawl processing.
In Brief
August 2026 put oversight and reach around the work you already do in Schema App. A "Needs Review" publishing status, and recorded decline reasons, while the Template Generator reuses existing account entities to reduce cleanup after generation. Linked Entity Recognition can now draw on internal entities from any project in your account, with a new "Entity Homes only" matching rule for tighter precision. Edge deployments on Akamai, Cloudflare, and CloudFront are now monitored on the home dashboard, and the Cloudflare Worker gained bot-only injection and a fetch timeout to protect page speed. Reporting improved throughout: consolidated and more accurate performance metrics, a unified Analyzer crawl history with per-URL error reports, a more complete Entity Hub, a two-column Knowledge Assistant, and a long list of Highlighter reliability fixes. Enterprise sign-in, Merchant Center, and per-sub-account Entity Hub tiers round out the month.
As always, thanks for building with Schema App. Your Customer Success Manager is happy to walk through any of this month's updates with you.
