Release Notes - February 2026

Modified on Tue, 26 May at 12:31 PM

February was a month of meaningful refinements across the Schema App platform, with a strong focus on making the Entity Manager more intuitive, expanding what you can see directly in Monitoring Results, and streamlining the entity linking workflow in Graph Wrangler.

Entity Manager: Field Categories and Usability Improvements

The Entity Manager received a significant wave of UX improvements this month. Fields are now visually grouped into categories, making it easier to navigate and explore entity data at a glance. The "Other" catch-all category has been removed, with the "Type" property moved to the more discoverable "Overview" category. Fields are now sorted alphabetically for consistency, and linked entities in the read-only view now display human-readable names instead of raw URIs. Together, these changes make the Entity Manager notably easier to work with for everyday tasks.

Monitoring Results: View Template Deployment Patterns

You can now view the include and exclude URL patterns for any template source directly from the Publishing & Deployment Status widget in Monitoring Results, via a new "Show Patterns" action. Previously, checking a template's deployment scope required navigating away to a different section. This brings critical context — URL, glob, and XPath pattern types — right to where you're already reviewing deployment status, saving you extra clicks and keeping your workflow uninterrupted.

Graph Wrangler: Combined Internal and External Entity Linking

Graph Wrangler now supports both Internal Entity Linking (IEL) and External Entity Linking (EEL) in a single, unified experience. Previously these were separate flows; they are now integrated, simplifying the linking process and aligning it with the familiar Entity Linking workflow already present in the Highlighter. This is particularly useful for teams managing external user-driven entity linking alongside internal connections.

Other Improvements at Schema App

  • Sticky Column Headers in Monitoring Reports: Column headers now remain visible as you scroll through lengthy monitoring report tables, so you never lose track of which column is which when reviewing large datasets.
  • Actions Menu Auto-Closes After Selection in Entity Reports: The "Actions" menu in Entity View, URL View, and Topic View now automatically closes after you select an action — no extra click required to dismiss it.
  • Entity Unoptimization Confirmation Modal: When unoptimizing an entity, a new confirmation modal now clearly explains that the action will remove the entity from topic clusters and performance analytics, preventing accidental data loss.
  • Deployment Monitoring Now Shows All Sources: The Deployment Monitoring results screen previously only displayed Editor and Highlighter sources. It now correctly includes WordPress, Merchant Center, and Shopify sources, giving you a complete view of all active project data sources.
  • Highlighter: Optimized XPath Generation: XPath generation in the Highlighter has been optimized to address unresponsiveness on complex pages, particularly for users with limited memory. Highlighting on pages like those built with Xero should now be significantly more reliable.
  • Editor UI: Layout and Scrollbar Fixes: Several visual quirks in the Schema App editor have been addressed — scrollbars now remain visible to indicate available properties, the "Edit" button text no longer fades unexpectedly, and property fields are consistently aligned. URIs are also displayed in a cleaner codeblock style.
  • Shopify: Clearer Account Linking Status: The Shopify account linking screen no longer shows a persistent loading spinner after a successful link. The UI now unambiguously confirms whether the linking attempt succeeded or failed.

In Brief

February 2026 brought a concentrated round of improvements centred on usability and visibility. The Entity Manager is now meaningfully easier to navigate with field categories, alphabetical ordering, and human-readable entity labels. Monitoring Results gained a new "Show Patterns" modal for inspecting template deployment scope without leaving the widget, and the Deployment Monitoring screen now surfaces WordPress, Merchant Center, and Shopify sources alongside the existing Editor and Highlighter entries. Graph Wrangler's entity linking was unified into a single IEL + EEL flow. Rounding out the month: sticky headers in monitoring reports, a cleaner actions menu, a new unoptimization confirmation modal, Highlighter XPath generation improvements, editor layout fixes, and clearer Shopify account linking feedback.
