List of Search Appearances in Google Search Console and Schema Performance Analytics

Search Appearance is an interesting label as it encompasses Rich Results powered by Schema Markup and non-rich results generated by Google or other systems (e.g. Translated Results, AMP non-rich result, etc).

Below are the Search Appearances associated with Rich Results:

  • AMP Top Story (AMP page + Article markup)
  • Education Q&A
  • FAQ (currently very uncommon)
  • Job Listing
  • Job Details
  • Merchant Listing
  • Product Snippet
  • Q&A
  • Review Snippet
  • Recipe Gallery
  • Video

Rich Results or Features without an associated Search Feature (e.g. without reporting in Google Search Console) include:

  • Article (without AMP)
  • Course Info
  • Event
  • Math Solver
  • Organization
  • Software Application
  • Vehicle Listing

Search Appearances that are not Rich Results include:

  • AMP non-rich result (AMP page with no Article markup)
  • Android App
  • Media Actions
  • Translated Result
  • Web Light

Google Search Console's Performance Report provides information about the performance of specific Search Appearances. To review this data, navigate to the Performance Report and select the Search Appearances tab.

This will navigate to a view where you can see all the Search Appearances acheived during that time period.

Selecting one of the lines will apply a filter to the Graphs and Totals, reflecting only the metrics from when the rich result was achieved.

Modify the filter by selecting it to open a pop-up dialog box. Choose the Search Appearance of choice and select "Apply".
