What are some best practices for tag implementation in Tealium?

Make sure there are no constraints on the tag. We also recommend placing the tag in the header to ensure it has a priority load.

What is the average page load delay when loading Schema App's tag?

We use Amazon CDN. The average response time to load scripts or data is typically < 40 milliseconds. For more information about impacts on page load, see our article Schema App JavaScript Page Impact Overview.

Why shouldn't we use the Tealium Integrations Tag?

Although Schema App can be found from the list of Tealium tags, we recommend creating a Generic Tag. More information on Tealium Generic Tags can be found within the Tealium Learning Center.

How can I test whether my Tealium Tag is working?

To confirm your tag is working, go to any webpage you expect the tag to fire on and open the web console using (ALT+CONTROL+J | OPTION+COMMAND+J), or by right-clicking the page, selecting "Inspect" and then going to the "Console" tab.

From within Console, paste in window.schema_highlighter and hit Enter. This will test whether Schema App's scripts are present on the page and, if so, the data source and Schema Markup that has been deployed. The results should look something like this:

If your results are "undefined" your tag is not firing correctly.

You can also go to the "Elements" tab and search for highlight.js. If the tag has been correctly applied, it will be visible within the header.
