Schema.org Markup for SquareSpace Sites

Modified on Wed, 12 Oct 2022 at 01:28 PM

Schema App allows you to automatically deploy your code directly into the SquareSpace script area! Currently, the default SquareSpace markup editor is very limited. With Schema App, you can add rich, detailed JSON-LD markup to your SquareSpace site.

Our developers have now made it possible to deploy your code directly to SquareSpace. The method is amazingly simple. Copy and paste the Javascript (sample code below) and insert it into the script area of your SquareSpace site.

Instructions

  1. Register for Schema App
  2. Markup your website using Schema App (video tutorial series)
  3.  Go to Schema App and get the javascript to add to your site from  Integrations>Javascript>Squarespace
  4.  Schema App will auto-populate your API Key and account name (type in your API key next to "x-api-key", and your account name next to "x-account-name").  Note, if you are using a sub-account, you will need to add the /Sub-account name to your Account Id. It will look something like this:
<script src="https://cdn.schemaapp.com/javascript/schemaFunctions.min.js"></script> <script>schemaLoad("Account-name", "XXXX-APIKE-Y29SI-TZBC5");</script>

5. Copy the code and paste it into the script area of your SquareSpace site

The script area in SquareSpace can be found at:

https://(yourdomain).squarespace.com/config/settings/advanced/injection

That's it! Your SquareSpace site is now optimized with structured data.

With Schema App, you can quickly and easily create structured data markup for every page on your website.
