How to: Remove old Schema App Liquid template code

Modified on Wed, 27 Mar at 2:22 PM

Note: Starting on Jan 01, 2024, Shopify revoked write access to Themes via the Asset API. Because Schema App is no longer able to remove our modifications to your store's theme, we have Schema App has transitioned to using Theme App Extensions, deploying schema markup using an App Embed Block.

To remove any leftover Liquid template code from your stores' Theme, follow the instructions below:

1. Open the theme code editor from the Shopify admin interface in Online Store > Themes > ... > Edit code.

2. From the Layout section, open the file called theme.liquid.

3. Search this file and find the lines that start with <!-- SchemaAPP Liquid Start --> and end with <!-- SchemaAPP Liquid End -->, and delete these lines. See the highlighted text in the image below.

4. Save the changes to this file.

After carrying out these steps, you've removed all of the Liquid template code that we inserted into your existing template files.
