WordPress Advanced: Add to Default Markup Functionality

By installing the Schema App Wordpress plugin, you will automatically generate schema markup for the following page types on your WordPress site: 

However, if you want to add additional markup to your pages, or customize the output, this can be done with the Schema App Advanced WordPress Plugin

Once installed, go to any page receiving markup on your WordPress site, and select Add to Default Markup. When you click on this button, Schema App will import the default markup from WordPress and give you the option to add additional fields.

What should you add to the default BlogPosting Schema Markup?

The Article and BlogPosting types contain many properties that can be used to further describe your content. Here are some of the most useful properties to use:

  • About - Add primary topics related to the blog.
  • Mentions - Add secondary topics related to the blog.
  • Has Part - Add if the work contains other creative works, like an FAQPage, within the Article or Blog.
  • Video - Does the blog have a video in it? If so, link it here.
  • Time Required - How long does it take to read this blog? Enter it here in the the following format , for example, 1 hour 30 minutes would be P1H30M
