I have activated the plugin on my client’s WordPress site, but why am I unable to change the settings?

To change the settings, you need to login to www.[yoururl]/wp-admin/. When you go to that URL, if you get redirected to another page and get a 404 error, you may have redirect issues. These are unrelated to the Schema App plugin so please contact WordPress or your domain provider to resolve this.
